Zurich Chan is an independent filmmaker based in Zamboanga City. Growing up in a video rental store for ten years, this has been his basis into writing scripts and his visual style. The nature of his filmmaking delves into topics of loneliness and existentialism. Teoriya is his first salvo at being at the director’s helm of a feature length film. According to Zurich, his journey into filmmaking is looking for the true meaning of loneliness in any shape, form or situation because, accordingly, all of us are really and truly just separate beings who are, in this world, essentially alone. Writing all his scripts in Chavacano, combined with his unique visual style makes his films nothing less but different.
