Competition / Film Festival:

The 2008 Chicago Filipino American Film Festival

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2008 Chicago Filipino American Film Festival. The festival will take place on November 7-9, 2008 at a new location: the Portage Theater, a historic 1,300-seat venue in Chicago, Illinois.

The 2008 festival marks our fifth year of bringing feature films, shorts, music videos, and documentaries to Chicago. We feature works from rising talents from the Filipino American independent scene, as well as acclaimed works from the vibrant cinema of the Philippines.

Award Categories:

To celebrate our 2008 year, CFAFF will present awards in the following categories:

Feature-length Narrative
Documentary (feature-length or short)
Short film (narrative)
Music Video

The Music Video Category will include a cash prize of $1,000. To qualify music videos must represent a collaboration between filmmakers and musical artists.

Deadline:
The early deadline for submissions is September 15, 2008. Entries must be received on this date. Late entries may be accepted until October 1, 2008; however entries received on or before the early deadline may receive stronger consideration.

Attention international filmmakers: if friends, relatives, or associates submit films on your behalf, please include your direct address and contact information along with all submission materials in order to prevent problems in communicating directly with the filmmaker.
