L'ALTERNATIVA - Barcelona Independent Film Festival

    L'Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival is a platform for the promotion and distribution of films, which for their innovative character, have difficulties to find a way into main exhibition and distribution circuits. In 2007, the festival screened over 360 films from more than 40 countries.

    L'Alternativa is also a meeting place for filmmakers, producers, programmers and distributors, and offers festival guests a video à la carte service, which includes all films in competition.

    Films completed after 01 January 2007 can compete in one of the festival sections. Accepted original formats are: 35mm, 16mm, Super 8 and video with a screening copy on 35mm, 16mm, Betacam SP PAL, DVCAM PAL or mini DV PAL.

Films may participate in the following competitive sections:
Feature,
Documentary,
Short and Animation.

The Festival awards cash prizes will be given to the filmmakers in each of the four sections:

6.000 € feature film prize
4.000 € documentary prize
2.000 € short film prize
2.000 € animation prize

There is no entry fee.
