adobo magazine has long been a supporter of football, hosting the adobo football cup for four years running. This year, adobo throws its support behind the Tondo futkaleros, an unlikely bunch of young men from the slums.
Happyland is based on the story of the legendary barefoot players of Tondo who find hope and a chance for a better life with football. The film takes its title from the film's setting, a community named after "hapilan" -- a Visayan word for "garbage dump".
Donations of old football gear will be accepted at the screening.
Tickets are at P250, with a 5+1 offer for groups. For ticket reservations, call Elsa or Evelyn at (02) 845-0218 or 09175826536 or email info@adobomagazine.com.
