'Here Comes The Bride': Soul Swapping Like No Other
Wednesday, May 12, 2010

There is no better way to cap off a hot summer and a tension-filled electoral season than to enjoy a fun-filled comedy. That’s exactly the relief that the movie 'Here Comes the Bride' plans to offer audiences this month.

'Here Comes the Bride' tells the story of five different people who, while on route to a beach wedding, swap souls after an accident occurs coinciding with a solar eclipse. A whole lot of confusion follows when the virginal bride wakes up in her godmother’s body, the godmother finds herself in the body of the ring-bearer’s yaya, the promdi nanny finds herself in the old family patriarch’s body, the grandfather wakes up in the gay image stylist’s body and the gay beautician finds himself in the body of the pretty and young bride. As each person starts to get comfortable (or uncomfortable) in their new bodies, personal needs surface and desires are realized. Only time will tell if they will go back to normal or if all five of them are even willing to return to the way things were.

The story of soul-swapping is nothing new in movies; but this film multiplies that same story by five, which means five times the confusion, five times the chaos and five times the comedy. From beginning to end, Here Comes the Bride promises to deliver the laughs as we witness each character’s journey and how each personality takes advantage of the bodies they’re trapped in. Expect to see hilarious situations and surprising moments leading up to the story’s climax which will surely entertain and engage the whole family.

Here Comes the Bride is produced by Star Cinema, OctoArts Films and Quantum Films. It features a fantastic ensemble cast rarely seen on the big screen: Eugene Domingo, John Lapus, Tuesday Vargas, Jaime Fabregas and Angelica Panganiban, with Ms. Cherry Pie Picache, and Tom Rodriguez. The film is written and directed by Chris Martinez, the Palanca award-winning writer behind 100, KimmyDora and Bridal Shower.

Here Comes the Bride, the ultimate summer comedy, opens nationwide starting May 12, 2010.
