MMFF Execom issues official box-office results; 'Enteng' maintains lead

MANILA, Philippines — Vic Sotto and Ai Ai de las Alas live up to their titles Box Office King and Queen respectively as their joint comic venture “Enteng ng Ina Mo” continues to rule the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)’s three-day (Dec. 25-27) box-office tally with over P91 million.

“Enteng” (a Star Cinema, M-Zet, APT and Octo Arts joint entry) leads by more than P40 million second placer “Ang Panday 2” (Imus Productions and GMA Network) with over P51 million.

In third place is the Kris Aquino-Dingdong Dantes horror starrer “Segunda Mano” (Star Cinema/MJM Productions) with a take of close to P47 million.

Regal Films' entry, the final installment of “Shake, Rattle & Roll” (all-star cast) is at No. 4 with over P22 million. Coming close is Octo Arts Films’ “My Househusband: Ikaw Na!” (starring real-life couple Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos), which ranked fifth with more than P20 million.

The controversial entries “Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga” (Scenema Concept International) and “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” (Regal Films) finished 6th and 7th with P7 and P4 million, respectively.
