MANILA, Philippines — Star News: Audiences can feel the network war in the ongoing MMFF. Competing for top honors are “Enteng ng Ina Mo” (co-produced by ABS-CBN’s movie arm, Star Cinema) and “Panday 2” (a joint venture between Imus Productions and GMA Films). ABS-CBN won the round with “Enteng” emerging as the ultimate top grosser.

Dingdong Dantes’ first best actor win for “Segunda Mano” at the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival is just the right inspiration for him to produce more movies. The actor recently put up his own production group called Agostodos. Its first project is “Segunda Mano” in tandem with Star Cinema.

This early, talk is that “Enteng ng Ina Mo” will have a sequel slated for the 2012 MMFF. Vic Sotto and Ai Ai de las Alas have struck a lethal combination at the box office. “Enteng” has amassed over 92 million pesos within the first three days only of the filmfest.
