Profile:
Gatecrash with Nadia (or GWN for short) was founded in mid-July of 2007 by original members most of whom are no longer part of the band. Within a span of three years, a colored history of setbacks, milestones and member changes worthy of a "telenovela" script cast the band into an unpredictable, emotionally-charged atmosphere of epic proportions. This instability, a characteristic of the band that has hounded it since day one, continues on to the present.
The early sound of GWN is founded on rock and emo-driven chord progressions, blues-y guitar riffs, heart-pounding stops and soulful, melodic vocals. The band's musical journey is a living metaphor for a stubborn musical landscape that distorts, shifts and transforms unto itself. Lyrics for the songs "Sandali" and "Silence of a Crowded City" were written by former vocalist Vehm Reyes and the remaining three by bassist Patrick Ocampo for their EP album "Don't Make Me Say This Twice" which was launched in 6 Underground Ortigas on November 8, 2008.
Amazingly, the band has successfully fronted for veteran acts like Kamikazee, Parokya Ni Edgar and Typecast on several occasions. Some occassions were imagined at best (a-ha!). GWN is currently on life support: clawing at the dark, heaving and breathing heavily like a hero-slain, mortally wounded abomination that refuses to curl up into a corner and die. If you still catch us performing our somewhat stale and outdated songs on stage one of these days, LUCKY US. :) So keep listening. Support our music. Tell us what you think. Just don't ask us who "Nadia" is, because we don't know either
"Don't Make Me Say This Twice", the band's maiden EP album was recorded and mastered at BeefStudios by Aaron Gonzales. It contains the songs Take Me, Nadia's Song, Labyrinth, Sandali and Silence of a Crowded City. If by miracle the stars align perfectly in the near future and the world doesn't end, the band will release a follow-up EP album to complement its previous one... so stay tuned!
