Profile:
A very cohesive set of band players, The Brew has been hopping around the bars in the Metro and outside since 2000 and has since deeply marked its space with its defined rock covers and bluesy originals. Its first CD produced in 2005 boasts of roller coaster themes culled from collective observations and experiences shared throughout their music.
Composed of Ryan ‘Doc’ Urbino (vocals, guitar), Jody Salas (vocals, bass),Randy ‘Padz’ Padua (guitar), and Alvin Zafra (drums, percussion), the band’s newest addition is Sir Duke Dadap(keyboard).
With the band’s second album already completed (10 fresh cuts), aptly titled, One for the Road, everyone is in for a taste of the freshest mix of pumping promises, numbing abandonment, and screaming realizations in its themes. Rhythmic and heart-stopping beats that tend to mellow somewhere in the interplay of instruments and then gather up again for the forceful drive, The Brew’s music is something worth listening to while the lyrics of every song cast the substance that creates that dynamic rocking allure — steeping, simmering sound. Now that they have a new hot album to flaunt, it is surely worth the take. And yet, there is so much more!
