Profile:
Barbaro is a band hailing from Manila, Philippines with it's sonic foundation built on J.C.'s punishing roar combined with both him and John unleashing sonic armageddon with their guitars, a monstrous low end from Dos and Brian's insanity inducing percussion. Originally formed under the name "Day of Wreckening" back in college, J.C. and Muff were replacements for guitar and bass positions respectively. During rehearsals, J.C. would take over vocals at times when their former vocalist wasn't available until such a time that he took over completely as their former vocalist left for personal reasons thus leaving a new face to the band who renamed itself as Barbaro. Left with 3 members (J.C., Muff & Brian), they served as the pillars for this indomitable force known today. With an insane mix of influences from metal such as Black Label Society, Sultans of Snap, Electric Wizard, Hatebreed, Devourment, Crowbar, Loss of Control, etc. and from hip hop mc legends such as Nyckz, Iron Solomon and The Saurus, the band's sound has evolved so dramatically in a short period of time that many critics feared the rise of this band. Using the beauty of the Filipino Language, freedom of speech of Hip Hop and the insane brutality of hard hitting Metal, lyrical attacks and wordplay has been one of the signature attributes which brought many ears to listen to Barbaro. With a more recent addition of a second guitarist, John, it has been said that the "wall of sound" is now complete. With more punishing riffs and continuous reinvention of style, Barbaro is not a force to be reckoned with. Mid 2008, as the band was on the rise for a complete take over, Muff had to leave for personal reasons as well thus crippling the band for a good 5 months. This did not stop the band however, as they were able to get Dos Dabao to play bass and join the battle for supremacy. To this day, Barbaro is still recuperating from the attacks that fate has wielded upon the band.. Be on the lookout as the band will be releasing it's much awaited full length album known as "Digmaan LP" which would certainly bring down the false and the non-believers. !
