On the fourth day of September year 2010, the roads of five people who have the same passion and interests met. Thus, Piyesa was formed.

Piyesa was originally composed of five members named Karla de Guzman (Lai) on vocals, Maynard Morit (Nardz) on guitars, Jennifer Anne Santonia (Jensan) on guitars, Christian Jacobe (Xtian) on bass, and Mark Angelo Isidro (Mark/Eloy) on drums. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected, hazardous, death-defying event, their bassist Xtian left the band. And from there, the new bassist and second vocals Austin Charl Atay (Austin) joined the group.

Why Piyesa? The group was named “Piyesa” under the influence of Miss May I’s hit “Apologies Are For The Weak”. For the exact reason, well, it’s a serious matter that only the members know why. HAHA ! LOL ! It’s actually just for fun and we can’t think of anything else! We had a hard time formulating a name for this band that is why we extend our most sincere appreciation and gratitude to one of our friends who gave us the idea to use the name "Piyesa". You know who you are. :D

We all love music. Music is our passion. So keep on track. Keep on playing. Respect all genres and never bring others down just to be on top. If they think they're better than you are, "let them be". Play for fun. Play for yourself. And never think of music as a competition. See you in our upcoming gigs and thanks a lot for supporting us! We love you. HAHA :)
