The name AudioLokal came from two words, Audio a Latin word audire which means hear and the word Local which means native spelled "Lokal" for a more pinoy resident, homegrown kind of word. Thus the name AudioLokal. This pinoy rock group from Manila, Philippines has been around since June of 2009. Originally formed as a trio by composer, vocalist and guitarist Alex Cerezo with JC Casibang on bass and Mike Natividad on drums. The three exhibit their passion by playing extensively and writing music along the road. In January 2011, a new member Enjo Servañez former Cherry Cornflakes guitarist was added forming a quartet. The now four piece band later recorded their first EP album which was released on July 2011. Drummer Mike Natividad was soon replaced by Rommel Concepcion.
AudioLokal sound is a combination of each members musical influences that ranges from pinoy rock, pinoy pop to standard jazz and hard rock types of music. Nevertheless, each members unique styles and knack add balls to the sound. Alex warm yet penetrating voice is a transport of the band's spirit. Enjo's style of spacey yet efficient guitar lines enlivens the music. JC's bass lines compliments Alex's guitar riff flawlessly and adds enchanting pulse to the music. And of course Rommel's powerful drums bring in the rock element and vigor to the music. Aside from the mixture of each individual musical influences, the group's chemistry and mutual respect with each other added a significant ingredient in the sound of AudioLokal.
This fusion of musical styles is evident in their music which can be heard in their self-titled EP album. AudioLokal frequently performs in bars along the metro playing their songs such as Tigang, PSP and Sarangola which are steadily gaining appeal among the growing wide audiences.
