Fronted by Marian Ty on vocals, Childstar’s line up is made up of Aaron Plata (Guitars), Brenton Bernardo (Guitars), Francis Vista (Bass), and Jeffrey Castro (Drums). The band delivers alternative-pop, and feel-good music. Marian writes most of their songs together with Aaron. Each member had respective bands before forming Childstar, Marian and Aaron had a short stint with the band Perimallows, Brenton used to be with Sugarhiccup, Francis from the grunge band Cherry crush and Jeffrey from Gish. Traces of influences came from The Cardigans, Plumb, Letters to Cleo, Sixpence None the Richer and No Doubt. The band has a handful of original songs up their sleeves like “Bent Down”, “Game”, “Patawad”, “Why do you”, “Sa Pagdating”, “Ako Sa'yo” and “Smile”.

    Aside from their original songs, they are also part of the Ballyhoo Records spearheaded Sampaguita Tribute Album, contributing their rendition of the Sampaguita favorite, “Laguna”, and had previously worked with various artist of the said label, such as of DJ Durano and Noel Cabangon, as their front-act band. They also made the official station ID of Spirit FM airing in different provinces nationwide.
