Philippine World Music group KALAYO, formerly known as Pinikpikan, has extensively performed for some of the most well-known international events and music festivals around the world, as well as major events in the Philippines, and has achieved its place as one of the country's most renowned and captivating acts. This 2012, Kalayo will be taking their music home and embarking on a year-long nationwide tour.
Kalayo kicks off a series of Metro Manila Pre-Tour gigs this Saturday, December 3, 2011 at B-SIDE, Makati, playing alongside some of the industry's most accomplished and riveting artists, Fuseboxx and Hijo.
FUSEBOXX is a 4-piece Pinoy (Filipino) Progressive band formed in 2001. Their existence became an inspiration that opened the doors to progressive music in the Philippines. Considered as one of the strongest local live acts, they leave any rock fan, musician or musical critic breathless with their ability to constantly amaze the audience—as much because of their complex arrangements and musical dexterity as the apparent passion each member puts into the creation and performance of their music.
In reverence to Confucius and his timeless wisdom, HIJO likes to call their music Kung-Fu-Rock. The band consists of Nathan Azarcon on vocals and bass, Ira Cruz on guitar, Vic Mercado on drums, Junji Lerma on guitar and Jay-O Orduña on keyboards and back up vocals.
This event is brought to you by Nightcloud, with media partners AtTheWomb, UR Face Radio, Rakista.com, Sari-Sari Sounds, Gig.Ph and Agimat. See you then!
