Luna Musikalawaig is an arts and music festival that advocates awareness and provides psycho-social aid to Sendong Victims in an engaging manner. The festival will be held on May 5 to 6 at the KI-Bathala Gardens, Barangay Talakag Bukidnon in Cagayan de Oro.
Project Description
In the past year, Northern Mindanao experienced a natural disaster which literally changed its landscape and left a large number of families homeless with the challenge of coming to terms with a new reality. Sendong was just one of example of the devastation that can take place if attention and effort is not paid to the restoration and revitalization of our ecosystems.
This year, Good Karma Events and Sonata Productions is bringing more attention to this need with the 'Luna Musikalawaig' Full Moon Festival. Our vision is to provide awareness on the need for nature conservation with engaging and compelling live music featuring the country's top musical acts, visual art by some of the best artists from Northern Mindanao and the opportunity for guests to learn about sustainable living.
The whole day festival will include musical performances by national and international artists, art installations by a Local Visual and Performance Guild, talks led by speakers from One CDO, as well as tree planting in areas at the riverside of the site venue which was left bare due to logging.
