Sponsored by Xend, Komura; awarded Rommel Joson on June 16, 2018 the Komura; Creators Grant – a scholarship Kwago and Warehouse Eight developed to provide financial support to the growing zine community in the Philippines.
Educator, illustrator and studio artist, Rommel Joson was given over five months to execute his pitch to Komura; and he’s revealing his project in Komura; Studio on Nov 24.
More than just a conference, Komura; Studio will feature talks by respected figures in the tech, print, literature and publishing industry from both local and international communities, and have a dedicated time for socials and a gig.

Speakers from Southeast Asia: Indonesia-based artist and Krack! Studio co-founder Malcolm Smith; and Singapore-based book designer and The Press Room Singapore founder Kelley Cheng.
Komura; will be held at Warehouse Eight on November 24, 2-11PM. The event is limited to 120 seats. Regular tickets cost P3,000, while the student rate is P2,700. Tickets are inclusive of: admission to 9 talks on funding creative pursuits, a Komura; Studio kit, afternoon snacks, unlimited coffee by Candid, and a gig. Tickets at the door will be P3,500, subject to availability.
