BUTOH JAZZ will feature the deep, humanistic, and expressive artistry of Sasa Cabalquinto (Butoh dance) with Christian Bucher, avant garde drummer from Switzerland and Simon Tan, Philippines’ busiest and most accomplished bassist, and Rick Countryman, alto sax, in a trio format that they have maintained since their first CD in 2016 on French label Improvising Beings (Acceptance~Resistance IB53)
It should be a magical and memorable night of cross-genre & trans-medium collaboration.
Sasa Cabalquinto, butoh dance, performed with Royal Hartigan and Rick several times in February, with M. Butterfly Philippines and many other productions, and recently studied at Kazuo Ohno Dance Studio in Japan. Sasa ia a professional dancer at The Addlib.
