The Cultural Center of the Philippines presents the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) in MUSIC FOR HEALING: PPO in Quarantine, a series of online performances or “virtual pocket concerts” featuring PPO member musicians. The series consists of three playlists: PPO by Your Bedside, PPO in Your Workplace, and PPO in Your Living Room. Each playlist, which runs for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, has a program of 10 to 12 musical numbers consisting of solo and ensemble performances, recorded by PPO musicians from their own homes.

This Friday, July 17 at 8:00 PM, PPO musicians premiere a new MUSIC FOR HEALING playlist called PPO in the Work Place. This playlist includes three pieces composed by Shostakovich that are light-hearted and giddy in character to give you an energy boost at work. The programme also includes Pocket Grooves, II. Samai by Gene Koshinski and Merck’s Tattoo by B. Michael Williams, characterized by the infectious rhythms of World Music to help you concentrate at work. The Ryan Cayabyab’s inspiring and uplifting song, ‘Nais Ko’ caps this set of pocket concerts.

MUSIC FOR HEALING aims to promote the benefits of music therapy on mental and emotional health.
