“Art in the time of COVID-19”
The world faces a new reality in the wake of a global pandemic. As life takes a standstill without, we retreat within, to the spaces of our thoughts and imagination. Now more than ever, art is an instrumental force in contributing to our mental and emotional well-being. In the face of dire circumstances, momentary joys can often come through the arts and creative expression.
Art Circle Gallery brings together the best contemporary artists in the industry in this special group exhibition, where they turn to their canvas to showcase landscapes of healing, portraits, and figures as acts of resistance – their craft a testament to their resilience and uncompromising artistic virtue.
Part of the proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to the family of the artists who passed away during the pandemic.
“The Art of Healing”
In a time of continued lockdowns and isolation, mental health plays an important role in a person’s well-being. For many artists, art is a way for their souls to heal, to find a space to paint their worries away and transform it into a positive force of inspiration for others. In this time of restriction, art serves as an avenue of freedom.
“The Art of Resilience and Resistance”
There has been an untold number of stories of loss and its impact on the ways we live and connect with others. An artist’s canvas becomes a medium of resistance, a fight for unbridled expression, a means of self-protest to pick up their brush and keep the craft alive. More importantly, art also holds in them the artists’ stories of struggles, dreams, and hopes in the face of such trying times, as we face the new reality of the world together.
