Art Lounge Manila presents “Becoming” Aileen Lanuza solo exhibition. This series is a process of finding herself. Her paintings are reflections of her deepest truths. She cannot separate experiencing life from her process of painting.

According to Lanuza, “There is a parallelism to life and art. Life is a continuous learning and knowing the path I want to traverse. It is difficult to convey real emotions, yet I try to express them through my art.”

Aileen wants people to relate to her works, because what she means is true, in the sense of love and emotion. Raw honesty is what gives a painting a soul.
In parallelism to women and flowers, that is also what the artist sees. Aileen sees different colors of expressions, different shades in different timeframes. Similar to the way the light hits the subject. It is enough to tell you a certain mood of time and a general feeling of space and atmosphere.

This exhibit is a tribute to Alieen’s Lola Ebeng who has recently passed away. Her heart is broken… But Aileen will continue to live life with a full heart knowing she had the best Lola in the world who loved her and had always been there for her. Aileen knows you were that butterfly that flew in her studio, She knows, because that butterfly landed right in front of her and looked her straight in the eye. Be free Lola. Aileen knows you are still looking out for her.
