“My work combines canvases which echo the nostalgia of landscapes and found objects in lyrical compositions. Relying on the power of these as bearers of stories past, my work is an ode to familiar places.
Its visually reiterating concepts of memories as a state of “once-againness” in family history and contemporary existence.”
These words from the artist Brave Singh echoes in each of us as we recall, relive, and evoke memories that strike a chord in our hearts.
Working with warm and subdued colors, the air of nostalgia is created and gives justice to Brave’s attempt at recreating life memories.
Though time seems to be slipping through our hands, one of the things that makes us pause and ponder is the phrase “I remember that.”
It is the beauty of a memory evoked, the feeling of a certain moment in time, the scent or taste of something special, the harmony of a song — all of which take your heart to a journey within to that familiar place.
I remember that.
