Vulnus Salus

We are not fixed, we are in motion, caught between what wounds us and what restores us.
In her debut under her own name, Elwin J. Caparas steps into her lineage, identity, and authorship—bridging psychology, heritage, and divine intuition into a body of work that confronts the tension between vulnerability and strength.
Born into a bloodline of creatives, she is the grandniece of Carlo J. Caparas and carries the poetic lineage of José Corazón de Jesús—threads of narrative and lyricism that surface in both form and feeling across her work. Her practice is further shaped by her formal training under her mentor in fine arts, Romulo “Mulong” Galicano, grounding her vision in discipline and tradition.
Joined by guest artists MJ de Jesus and Matthius Bragais Garcia, Vulnus Salus expands into a collective dialogue—where the personal becomes shared, and the wound becomes a site of endurance.
Strength and vulnerability move together in a rhythm that defines our existence. The works in this exhibit fix that movement in place—clear, contained, and enduring.
They reveal their depth only to those who stay.
