Artist Elmer Dumlao
Elmer Dumlao’s breakthrough exhibit in Jordan was his first Solo titled, “Jordan through the Eyes of Dumlao” at the Zara Gallery in 2010. The exhibit bridges interests in creativity work featuring his roots as Filipino and Jordan as a country where he works. He promotes Philippine Art in his many exhibitions in Amman praised by gallery visitors and Filipino colleagues.
From “Jordan through the Eyes …” followed exhibitions of Dumlao which has become a yearly event in a foreign country which has embraced his work such as “Eye to Eye”, “Animangles”, among many others. Most recently, “Puzzles of Life” his seventh solo in Jordan was hosted by the Philippine Embassy in Amman.
Most of his exhibit openings were attended by the international community, art enthusiasts and support from the Filipino community.
His works have been exhibited in several group shows in Manila, Jeddah, Dubai, Paris and Amman.
Dumlao is a multifaceted individual. He was educated to be an artist but he excelled equally in many areas of creativity in – music as choir singer, marketing and advertising awardee bringing new things in Jordan and the Filipino community and entrepreneur and advocate of change and progress.
His successful collaborations and creative contributions to the advertising media have given him numerous awards and recognitions.
Dumlao, a gem of an artist returns to Manila to open “GROUND ZERO: AN ARTIST COMES HOME”, his first One Man Art Exhibit in Philippine soil at The Art Center of SM Mega Mall on April 1, 2018. Proceeds from this exhibit will go to projects of the UST Atelier Alumni Association, Inc.
Elmer Dumlao finished his Bachelor degree in Fine Arts (Major in Advertising) from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila in 1981.
He is 2011 Bagong Bayani Awardee.
Dumlao works as Creativity and Design Supervisor at King Abdullah II at Royal Hashemite Court in Amman, Jordan.
