Contemporary Art Exhibition
November 12 – December 12, 2021
Baguio Convention Center | Basement Gallery
Baguio City, Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines
The 2021 Ibagiw Contemporary Art Exhibition takes inspiration from the natural phenomenon of alimuom or petrichor, the sweet smell that permeates the earth after the touch of a gentle summer rain that evokes memories and floods us with emotions. Such depictions have remained potent sources of inspiration for the artists of Baguio.
Part memory, part nostalgia, artists in this exhibition go beyond mere representations and reinterpretations of the visceral and communal. It examines and revisits confluences within familiar localities–ecology, the home and spaces of care through various artistic and creative practices and processes.
