Lead Single: Shabs
There are plenty of rappers out there who can spit intelligently about politics, and even more who can take a liquor-soaked shindig to the next level, but how many artists can do both at the very same time? To answer my own rhetorical question, not too damn many, but Los Angeles mic-wrecker Bambu is most definitely one of ’em.
On the upcoming Party Worker LP, the Filipino-American emcee will serve up 15 more of the revolutionary bangers fans know and love. None of the songs on the set have been featured in the Booth, though we did shine the spotlight on lead single and outtake “Shabs.” The Fighting Cocks make the sole guest appearance on the album, which boasts powerful beats byBrandon All Day, CZA, OJ, Ro Blvd and more.
Originally scheduled for release on October 28, Party Worker is available now for digital purchase and free stream.

Just shy of a year after blessing our front page with his last solo feature, mixtape inclusion My Potnas, Bambu has unleashed Shabs, single numero uno off his next studio album. As usual, the Los Angeles representative presents radical politics in an eminently listenable package. Over DJ Arbie Won‘s horn-sampled beat, which cleverly shifts from 6/8 to 4/4 time halfway through the joint, he tells the story of a poor Manilian drug addict who lashes out against an American sex tourist. DJ Supreme Fist mans the wheels of steel, and Paco Renata provides a set of compelling, animated visuals. Party Worker is scheduled for independent digital release on Tuesday, October 28. In the meantime, of course, you can keep it locked for more fresh singles.
