On April 9 to 11, 2015, the Sison Auditorium in Lingayen, Pangasinan will be the birthplace of a new course for our country – The 1st BAYBAYIN SUMMIT. Its focus is the first Philippine writing script, a faded gift from our forefathers, forged in history but forgotten with time. On the frontline is TAKLOBO BAYBAYIN INC., a non-government organization advocating language and culture as the core foundation for our national development founded by MR. JOSE JAIME “JAY” R. ENAGE, proponent of BAYBAYIN BUHAYIN. The Summit is a three-day series of seminars and symposia on the script; its profound history, potential use in our modern-day life, and its powerful impact on our future. But first, we have to be aware of the basics before we can begin anew. Back to Baybayin. Believe in it. Benefit from it. Bring it on! Padayon!
The Summit is open for Academes, Baybayin Advocates and Professionals. The seminar/workshop aims to create awareness among teachers and students on the historical and importance of our own language, the ancient writing system, the Baybayin and provide a forum for stakeholders among the academe and other related agencies regarding the relevance of Baybayin and some Baybayin Artifacts for educational purposes. This seminar is a strategic component in the implementation of Republic Act 10533 known as the “Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 and mobilization of the use of Mother Tongue Base-Multi Lingual Education (MTB-MLE).
