Because we must never forget.
On February 4, we gather to collectively remember that fatal day of February 7, 2014 in Bontoc, Mountain Province that took the lives of 15 people – most of them artists, some our friends.
We gather to give thanks that the survivors and the families of the victims are able to cope and move on with their lives. We gather to remember the lives of those who are no longer with us and celebrate the full lives they lived. We gather to remind ourselves that we will not allow an incident like this to happen again and we must remain vigilant as a people, as a nation.
Howie and Ipat have graciously welcomed us to their place, Sev’s Cafe in Malate, to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of the Bontoc Bus Crash this February 4, Wednesday, 7pm.
This event kicks off a series of gatherings to remember February 7. Some of the families of the victims and the survivors will be holding a ritual at the crash site on February 8 while others will be holding gigs, bike tours and other activities.
You are welcome to offer songs, poetry, show videos or share stories and photos to help us remember Tado, Gerald, David, Don, Bam, or Mylo and to celebrate their lives. We hope to see you on February 4 at Sev’s Cafe.
