We’ve created a unique line-up of films that celebrate one of Philippine cinema’s greatest champions, Teddy Co. He has a penchant for films that are lost, unheralded, strange.
Time to be a champion for Teddy by watching these films about films, some silent, some odd, some forgotten, all beautiful. This is a fundraiser to support Teddy’s medical expenses as he has been battling with cancer in the last few years.
🎟 Tickets are at Php200
📽 Screenings are on Oct 6 and 12
On October 6, we open with one of our most beloved action movies, Ang Padrino by Fernando Poe Jr. who is both the director and star of the film.
Back to back is a film about a film inspired by Ang Padrino; Martika Escobar’s Sundance-winning Leonor Will Never Die.
On October 12, we are proud to present a rarely seen film and a new work about lost films showing in the Philippines for the very first time! Dik Trofeo’s Borobodur: The Cosmic Mountain, a 1972 documentary about the restoration of the Indonesian temple. This is double-billed with Khavn’s Nitrate: To the Ghosts of the 75 Lost Philippine Silent Films (1912-1933).
Our heartfelt thanks to the filmmakers who have so generously lent their films for this event.
