Seconds and Minutes is a dance thesis production directed and choreographed by Mariella Lia Carlos, a student majoring in Dance at the De La Salle College of St. Benilde. The production will be held at the SDA Black Box, 6th Floor, School of Design and Arts Campus on March 5 to 6, 3PM & 7PM
Through a collection of dance pieces, Seconds and Minutes explores the different experiences an individual commonly undergoes when waiting. It will feature a number of ways in which a person can make waiting an enjoyable process and challenge audiences to try and create a pleasant experience out of one that is commonly seen as an inconvenience.
Seconds and Minutes director and choreographer, Mariella Lia Carlos is a full scholar at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde – Bachelor or Performing Arts in Dance. In 2013, she received a full scholarship at the Academy One Music and Dance Center. Mariella has performed at several events such as Australian Conservatoire of Ballet International Gala (2015), Ballen Manila-NCCA International Dance Day Festival (2015), “Trends and Technologies Anniversary (2017) at Okada Manila and “Respire, Respire” Performance Art (2019). She has also co-choreographed a piece performed at the Asia Pacific Dance Conference (2019) at the University of Hawaii.
Seconds and Minutes will showcase performances by HKCCDC 2019 gold medal awardees – Stella Estriber, Florencio de Guzman IV, Marie Erika Arandez and Brixmond Utrera.
