Faye Pamintuan

Faye Pamintuan is a painter born and currently based in the Philippines but spent her formative years residing in Texas, USA. Constantly traveling between the two countries informs her practice as she cultivates and maps out her own space in this in-between. Pamintuan’s works are inquiries that respond to the dilemma of the diaspora: probing on the sense of self through imagined moments colliding, exploding, melting, and molding into each other. Her paintings manifest from outbursts of energy coupled with slow quiet moments of contemplation. Through layers that encourage conversation between intuitive mark making and mediated strokes, she probes at the visual possibilities of slowing down movement, suspending time, and elongating moments. She balances her studio practice alongside teaching art classes to both children and adults. Pamintuan graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. Her works have been exhibited at various galleries in Metro Manila.
