Kathmandu-based Hit Man Gurung and Sheelasha Rajbhandari are members of ArTree Nepal, an artist collective whose varied interdisciplinary practices are grounded in social practice, particularly responding to some of the most pressing social-political issues in Nepal including mass migration and women’s rights, among others. The artists will speak about their individual practice as well as how their collaborative work through ArTree Nepal with different individuals, including artisans, engineers, and writers initiates strategic grassroots interventions with the goal of fostering and empowering marginalized communities.
This talk is organized by Bellas Artes Projects in partnership with Jorge B. Vargas Museum and Filipiniana Research Center.
