Home Tour is a furniture collaboration of Space Encounters and Travelfund by Siriusdan. For the uninitiated, Space Encounters Gallery is an offshoot of interior design firm and mid century modern furniture store Space Encounters, while Cyrus Cañares of Travelfund creates hand-painted pieces like ottomans and pillows. Space Encounters produced the mid century modern furniture and used some of its vintage fabric from Berlin. The group of designers matched it with Cañares’s floral vintage fabric from Netherlands and Germany, which he then painted Art Deco and mid century modern patterns on “to bring excitement and joy to the timeless form of these chairs,” he said.
Home Tour is how we travel now, safe within our homes with just our creativity. The new collection shows how inventiveness can expand our worlds and affect our emotions positively even while we stay indoors. The furniture pieces interact with Ignacio’s art to create vignettes of everyday flights of imagination.
