Janddie Castillo’s artistic method is a physical and meditative process that fills each canvas with moving lines and multi-layered textures.
His latest works for “Hope Triumphs” is based on the art form of Bonsai trees. For the artist, the trees symbolize the immutable bond of family. The rocks represent strength and foundation, while the distant sun in the paintings signify light, hope, and guidance. The practice of Bonsai also reflects the fact that no work even attains a state of completeness. They are always growing, evolving, flourishing. They are a beautiful reminder of the constant transition and development life takes within the realms of existence, a never-ending evolution.
