Hulaw Conference takes place in Tayabas this History and Language Month

Tayabas, Quezon – the 11th Tayabas Province Studies Conference has started anew from August 18 until 20 with its theme HULAW (Heograpiya, Ugnayan, Literatura, Awit, Wika) Safeguarding the Intangible and Tangible Heritage of Tayabas Province.

 

 

Dr. Ivan Henares, the UNESCO Philippine Commission Secretary General served as keynote address on the first day. Then the first panel followed via online platform with recorded presentations along with the live rendition of Vim Nadera for the second panel. During the second day, would be in-person event at Nawawalang Paraiso Resort in Tayabas City. The face to face leg features speakers like Dr. Gilbert Macarandang, Dr. Randy Nobleza and Atagan Director Ryan Palad.

 

 

Institutions represented during the Atagan conference are the following: University of the Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Komisyon sa Wika, Luis Palad Integrated High School, Mapua University, University of Santo Tomas, UP Los Baños, UP Baguio, De La Salle University, Saint Peter’s School, Southern Luzon State University, Marinduque State College, and ATAGAN. There are also presenters from Hinguiwin National High School, La Salle Greenhills, Stella Maris College, Konseho ng Herencia ng Lucena and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

And during the third day, there would a book launching “Ampiyas: Mga Halimbawa ng Banghay Aralin sa Pagtuturo ng Araling Tayabas/ CALABARZON” in time for the celebration of History and Language Month this August. The Quezon Studies Studies Ntaional Seminar/ Conference is organized by the Alternatibong Tahanan ng mga Akda at Gawang Nasaliksik. The 10th Tayabas Province Studies National Seminar/ Conference took place in August 2021 with the theme Lurok: Popularizing Culture, Defending Nature (Literatura, Uso, Recuerdo, Organsiasyon at Kapaligiran/ Kasaysayan sa Lalawigang Tayabas)
