All Things Filipino Food: Community, Culture and Economy
April 15-17, 2024
Far Eastern University – Manila | Auditorium
April 2024 marks the 6th year to celebrate the Filipino Food Month, as signed into law in 2018 via Presidential Proclamation No. 469 declaring the month of April as “Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino.” This recognizes Filipino culinary tradition and heritage, and aims to highlight the country’s character and foster national pride through food culture.
KAINCON or “Kain Conference” is a three (3) day conference in celebration of the Filipino Food Month. This conference brings together all industry practitioners, Filipino farmers, culinary historians, chefs, gastronomic experts from the local food industry and academicians in one event to discuss how we can influence local food cultivation and establish preservation initiatives that can transform the eating landscape. Also, this event supports the vision of Filipino Food Month which is to educate us Filipinos on how we can work together to preserve Filipino Culinary Heritage and Traditions.
KAINCON 2024 is brought to you by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Slow Food Youth Network Philippines and Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement in cooperation with the Far Eastern University – Manila.
