Komura; Studio invites you to write them a love letter for a free pass to the conference

Passionate about educating, inspiring, and connecting artists and publishers with industry movers and shakers from local and international communities, Komura; founders, Czyka Tumaliuan of Kwago and Kayla Dionisio of Warehouse Eight, bootstrapped the first intimate conference focused on understanding the business side of creative pursuits in publishing and print on Nov 24, 2018—Komura; Studio. Happening at Warehouse Eight, La Fuerza compound, Makati City, Komura; Studio will end with a gig organized by Echoes PH and a dedicated time for slow networking among the speakers and guests.

“We know that a lot of students and starting creatives want to go, but can’t afford the tickets so we’re inviting them to send us handwritten love letters for free passes to the conference,” Dionisio shared.

The founders shared that if they had funding or is supported by a grant, they will make the conference free for everyone, but the event is 100% independent and flying in two international speakers to come to Manila is costly.

“We’ve been working hard to create a conference that has real educational value for our community, while still giving everyone a good experience. The labor and costs behind such a high-quality event is not a joke,” Dionisio said.

“Honestly, if we had funding, we won’t charge at the door, but we don’t have that support. The the tickets make us cover the operation costs of the event,” Tumaliuan confessed.

The love letters should be sent to hello.komura@gmail.com in PDF or JPG format on or before Nov 20, 2018, midnight.

Komura; will be held at Warehouse Eight on November 24, 2-11PM. The event is limited to 120 seats. Regular tickets cost P3,000, while the student rate is P2,700. Tickets are inclusive of: admission to 9 talks on funding creative pursuits, a Komura; Studio kit, afternoon snacks, unlimited coffee by Candid, and a gig. Tickets at the door will be P3,500, subject to availability.
