Celebrate the 124th year of the first performance of a play at Teatro Junquera with a free admission event, this coming December 16, 2019, 4:00PM-7:00PM at Hawanan Tres de Abril, Palm Grass Hotel.
National Artist Dr. Resil Mojares and Social Historian Dr. Jobers Reynes Bersales video interviews on the Junquera history and other interviews on Junquera Street rebranding will be screened in the event.
Heritage advocate and writer Gavin Sanson Bagares will give a short talk on Governor Inocencio Junquera and his legacy, the Teatro Junquera.
The community theater Bag-ong Teatro Junquera will also perform excerpts from patriotic play, Abtik pas Kilat.
The short video on the Junquera story is created by Hong Kong-based Asia-Pacific Focus Features’ content creator and communications specialist Pros Laput.
With partner-stakeholders such as the University of the Visayas, University of San Carlos and University of San Jose Recoletos, Palm Grass stands strong in the endeavor to rebrand Junquera St. by developing the talents of the youth. Barangays along Gen. Junquera Street –Kamagayan, Sta. Cruz, Cogon Ramos, San Antonio, and Kalubihan are also active in this undertaking.
