“LABOR recognizes the gendered subjectivity of the artist-mother by highlighting their unique struggles and often invisible work, while also considering their strength and fervor. It is an intimate self-portrait that offers insight into how they are able to sustain such a tremendous task of the incredible, outward self-expression involved in nurturing both offspring — child and work.
Through a mother-centric perspective, Len-Len and Reynolds aim to advance the idea of motherhood as a source of inspiration and motivation, fostering an enriching experience that does not only influence the organization of their lives but also shape and inform their creative practice.
Pushing against the odds is already an accomplishment, still, being able to grow from it is a constant and powerful expression of one’s unconditional love and devotion for life’s work.”

—————
Pauline Reynolds and I are having a duo show and it’s opening this coming Saturday, February 11 at @vinylonvinyl Gallery. Hope you could come and witness our work, a testament of love for our children and for our mother selves. Working on this has really allowed me to be at my most vulnerable. It’s through it that I am able to show how it truly is to be a mother of many hats as my daughter would put it. I am beyond grateful to the talented, loving and deeply admirable @paureynolds for this opportunity. It’s an honor to share this experience with her. Grateful to @_fffffeleofish_ for sharing her wisdom with us through authentic words that perfectly capture what I want to articulate in this exhibit.
