Alo Monteagudo, Ton’s son, shared on social media, “We warmly welcome you to our ‘living room,’ where Ton Monteagudo’s artworks narrate the stories of Marinduque. His pieces capture serene moments, familiar faces, the richness of local culture, and the simple beauty of everyday life on the island. ‘Living room’ is more than just a gallery; it offers a glimpse into the soul of Marinduque, shared from the warmth of our home. We invite you to visit us at 28, Purok 5, Santol, Boac, Marinduque. Our doors are open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.”

During the opening, local entrepreneur Lorie Uy expressed her admiration for Ton and his work. She praised his dedication to authentic and genuine self-expression through visual art, which has inspired many. Despite being physically unable to produce his usual paintings, Ton adapted and transitioned into digital art, showcasing his resilience, grit, and creative spirit. Some of these digital artworks can be found at the Yslas Hiraya Art Corner at Balar Hotel and Spa, transformed into shawls, refrigerator magnets, tumblers, and more.

Uy also observed the evolution of Ton’s art from early works that were printed on T-shirts sold during Holy Week to later pieces that were framed and exhibited. She noted the depth and consistency of his vision throughout his artistic journey. Ton’s works are created in the style of Cubism and Modern-Contemporary Filipino Art, characterized by fragmented forms, geometric compositions, and layered perspectives. This distinct visual language is bold and meaningful, deeply rooted in Marinduque culture and faith, and a true reflection of Ton’s identity and perspective as a visual artist.

Uy, also acknowledge the pivotal role of the island’s artist, “I would like to express my gratitude to Kuya Ton for supporting Marinduque’s local artists through his participation in Yslas Hiraya’s exhibition. Your support means a lot to us. Additionally, for allowing me to wear one of your artworks through digital printing of my terno at the Gawad Marinduqueño Awarding Ceremony early last year. It was an honor. This gallery represents a fresh upgrade in the island’s art scene and tourism landscape, enriching Marinduque with a renewed space for creative dialogue and cultural expression. If you’re coming from Boac Town, please visit his gallery in Brgy. Santol, Boac, Marinduque, just before the Provincial Hospital. You’ll find it on your right. The gallery is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays.”
