Mga Anak ng Unos

Dalawang dula ng danas sa krisis pangklima

SA GITNA NG DIGMAAN NG MGA MAHIWAGANG NILALANG LABAN SA SANGKATAUHAN
written by Joshua Lim So
Direction José Estrella

This play follows the bathalas and other mythological creatures amidst a war waged against humans for destroying the sacred earth. These are not mere moral tales. The narratives illustrate how cultural communities and indigenous peoples have historically navigated the complexities of the earth.

CLIMATE IN CRAZIES
Devised from David Finnigan’s “Scenes from the Climate Era”
Direction Issa Manalo Lopez and Tess Jamias

This play documents the climate crisis as it exists beyond two extremes: an idealized portrayal of nature, and a grim, apocalyptic vision. “Climate in Crazies” is a conversation that intersects mythology and scientific data on the climate crisis we now collectively face.

Dulaang UP 47th Season

What kind of theatre is needed in this climate? How does theatre respond to these tensions?

Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (Dulaang UP) probes tensions in climate on its 47th Season. “Amihan at Habagat” looks into how Filipinos are at the center of sites of precarity: both in the political and ecological. Just like the amihan and the habagat, this season’s productions show the push and pull in the critical zones of the Philippines today.

Presenting both tradition and innovation, this season introduces two banners under Dulaang UP: DUP CLASSICS and DUP INNOVATE. 🎭
