Mozart 2024: Concert No. 1

 

Manila Pianos Artist Series presents MOZART 2024. A series of concerts featuring diverse concertos from the prolific Austrian composer. The series aims to introduces a new generation of instrumentalists, bringing them out into the spotlight while recreating performance practices of ages past.

Concert No. 1 will feature Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C Major, K415 as well as the Clarinet Concert K622.

The concert will be on Sunday April 21, 2024 at 6 pm. Venue will be at the Manila Pianos Showroom, 4/f Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City.

The artists:

MOSES LEE, piano, is currently a 4th year student at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Santo Tomas under the tutelage of Asst. Prof. Anthony Say. He was first offered piano lessons at the age of four by his aunt, Ha Na Lee, who taught him until his application for college. Moses has attended several recitals held by the Piano Teachers’ Guild of the Philippines Foundation, Inc. One of the most notable events he performed in was the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the PTGPFI, entitled Forte@40 held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He also attended several masterclasses held by numerous pianists worldwide. He won 3rd prize in the Four Notes International Piano Competition in 2021 and Honorable Mention in the New York Young Performers Prize Competition in 2023. He is currently teaching piano on the side, sharing the gift of music to others.

FRANZ JENSEN ANDRA, a clarinetist since age 9, hails from a musical lineage. Currently a graduating Philippine High School for the Arts scholar under Prof Ariel Sta. Ana, he thrived, receiving Highest Honors and Outstanding Student awards since his first year. Franz has won prizes in international competitions, most recently bagging 1st prizes in the Thailand International Clarinet Competition and the NAMCYA 2023 Open Woodwinds Category. Franz is the concertmaster of the Philippine Youth Symphonic Band and the Sta Cecilia Band 89.

 

Members of the Taytay Youth Philharmonic Orchestra

Founded in 2006 and re-established in 2015 the Taytay Youth Philharmonic Orchestra or TYPO is the foremost youth string orchestra in Taytay, Rizal. It is made up of more than 20 talented young musicians and around 30 in-training students from Taytay and its neighboring towns. It aims to recognize and develop the raw musical talents of the Taytayeño youth.

The TYPO, now being led and run by the youth themselves, has renewed their mission into serving and making a positive impact in the community by creating opportunities for the youth in musical training and performance. The TYPO believes that training and experience in orchestral music is an excellent means to enable the youth achieve their fullest potentials and teach them the values of discipline, selflessness, responsibility and solidarity. TYPO hopes to make a positive impact in the community, one young musician at a time.
