After winding roads and a long detour in his career, Reymar Conmigo finds his art as a way of coming home. He had given up on pursuing art as a career earlier on in pursuit of practical work, but it seemed that in some way, it was art that found him again. A chance encounter in their talyer with another artist gave him the push he needed to take the path to his artistic journey.
Conmigo’s cubist works give a stylistic edge to his pieces, while his subjects provide a soft counterpoint to them. The verdant flora burst with life, his newfound love for art blossoming. And the birds that fly and fleet among them underscores this freedom and care to explore and to soar above. Conmigo paints from a wealth of his lived experiences and holds a different kind of sentiment for them – where they were once objects of a past life, now they represent something bigger than himself.
In a time where most of us have to keep inside our spaces to feel safe, Conmigo’s art is a sight for sore eyes, a yearning to walk freely and see a bigger world. His forest panorama of vibrant green leaves infuses serene and restful state into the space, a slice of calm wonderfully captured in canvas.
