TALAHIB Announces their New Music Video PAG-IBIG ANG PAG-ASA
Quezon City, Philippines – Talahib People’s Music is thrilled to announce the release of their latest music video Pag-Ibig Ang Pag-Asa from their album Mga Awit Ng Pag-Ibig At Digmaan at Ta-as Café on February 27, 2015. The Talahib album Mga Awit ng Pag-ibig at Digmaan is a celebration of the Filipino culture in music illustrating an array of the people’s sorrow, adulation, outrage and defiance in song. Such as Mother Nature’s ever changing mood, the dynamic pitch, tone and timbre of voices meld in the warm melody of guitar, pulsating rhythm of drums, soothing hush of the flute and kiss of metal gongs. In the quiet of the lyrics is love, hope and freedom; the message both raw and grotesque is a roar.
First founded as a folk quartet, the band came together in 2000 singing covers of local politically progressive songs – the grassroots; hence, Talahib. Over time, they’ve come into their own paying homage to the Filipino heritage with a medley of native instruments, homegrown music and a bevy of bona fide performances. Fast forward fourteen years later: Coming into the spotlight, their provocative lyricism coupled with breathtaking beat brings audiences across the nation and the world to their feet.
Their third and newest official music video features Pag-ibig ang Pagasa, the eighth track in their album. It is a study of light reflecting the Filipino’s effervescent attitude complementing our resilience as a people. The cheerful demeanor of percussions rounded by the romance of strings relay the wistful echoes of our optimism; where we find bliss in smiles and solace in sunshine
