Announced winner receives a trip to Sagada,for 2 nights and 3 days inclusive of accommodation.

Continuation of Competition:
There will be a total of 5 seasons which 5 winners will compete at the end of the competition. Dates will be declared on Facebook.
Rules:
*Each poem must be of the poet’s own construction;
*Each contestant is to recite one 5 minute poem. He or she will be given a ten-second grace period before the actual performance to breathe and to settle on stage.
*Contestants may use props and musical instruments during the competition.
*Memorization is optional
Competition Flow:
*The competition will begin with a preliminary screening which will take place on the first level of our venue. Each contestant will be reciting a one minute poem. Qualified contestants advance to the next level.
*For the main competition, each poet will perform a 5 minute poem. The winner qualifies for the finals on December 5.
Scoring Guidelines:
*Judges will be your audience.
*Random 20 listeners will score your performance and to be tallied up at the end of the competition.
*Your scores will be stored in a sealed envelope.
*Once the competition is done, each contestant will view their own scores and announced winner goes to the finals.
*The judges will give each poem a score from 0-10, with 10 being the highest or perfect score.
TOTAL 30 POINTS
10 points – Content/message
10 points – Audience reaction
10 points – Performance/Delivery/Feels Factor
Breaking Ties:
Should there be a tie, each poet will recite another poem and to be judged by the audience.
Finals:
Finalists will be given a topic to write for 2 hours to perform their final piece.
Prizes:
*Weekly Contest: Food on the house
*Season Finals: TRIP TO SAGADA inclusive of accommodation
*Grand Finals: TRIP TO THAILAND inclusive of accommodation. 2 nights and 3 days.
Note:
This should be a healthy competition but foremost, its your words that should be painted in a way that people feel what you have to express. Spoken word poetry is a form of Art. Spread good messages and thoughts to bring people together. Lets begin this journey!
