The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) is set to conduct a nationwide volunteerism poster making contest. The contest aims to promote awareness of volunteerism as a way of life and its contribution to achieving socioeconomic development. Beyond advocating volunteerism, the contest is also a timely platform to highlight creative arts which is given a particular attention in the current administration’s ten point socioeconomic agenda.
The artwork should reflect the theme “Boluntarismo, Daan Tungo sa Pagbabago”. Entries can be submitted to PNVSCA and will be accepted until 20 September 2017.

Guideline
I. Rationale
Pursuant to the mandate of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency(PNVSCA)to promote volunteerism, the Agency has been conducting advocacies and recognitions of volunteer works in the country. The major advocacy campaigns are the conduct of the National Volunteer Month (NVM) and the Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV).
Furthermore, promotion of creative arts which is given a particular attention in the current administration’s ten point socioeconomic agendas one of the strategies being used by PNVSCA to advocate volunteerism. The Agency has successfully rolled out logo making contest in 2014, photo contest in 2015 and the recent volunteerism story writing contest in 2016.This year, the Agency proposes to conduct poster making contest which will raise public awareness and appreciation of volunteerism as well as creative arts.
II. Objective
To promote awareness of volunteerism as a way of life and its contribution to achieving socioeconomic development through the use of arts.
III. Theme
The theme of the contest is “Boluntarismo, Daan Tungo sa Pagbabago”.
IV. Contest Mechanics
- Eligibility
The contest is open to Filipino citizens, currently residing in the Philippines and at least 18 years of age at the time of submission of the entry.
- Entry Requirements
- Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of two (2) entries.
- The poster must depict or interpret the theme.
- The poster must be done in free hand using her/his own materials as follows:
- Poster shall be drawn on a 11” x 17” inches illustration board white background (horizontally or vertically) using a regular pencil.
- Permitted coloring materials: oil pastel/ craypass, markers, ink, acrylic and water color or poster paint.
The use of materials other than those specified above is a ground for disqualification.
- No wet works are allowed.
- Name of participant, organization/school (if any), title and description of the entry, and material/s used should be written at the back of the poster. Appearance of participant’s name, organization’s name or logo, or any product/brand name as a material or content in the poster is not allowed.
- The poster should have not been submitted in previous contests or used or displayed in public.
- Submission Mechanics
- The entries must be submitted with the following documents:

- Participant’s photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) with printed name of the participant at the back
- Title of the poster and a short description not more than 100 words written/ posted at the back of the poster.
- A digital copy of the entry must be sent via e-mail to: info@pnvsca.gov.ph
- Artists will be informed if their entry is shortlisted. Shortlisted entries shall be officially submitted to PNVSCA at the following address:PNVSCA, G/F Philippine Sugar Center Building

- The entries must be submitted with the following documents:
- Timetable
- Deadline for submission of digital entries:20 September 2017.
- Review and judging of the entries: September to November.
- Announcement of winners:15 November 2017.
- Judging
- The PNVSCA shall have the sole prerogative to choose the Board of Judges.
- The entries will be judged according to the following criteria:Relevance to the theme – 40 %Creativity, Presentation and Aesthetics – 30 %Originality – 20 %Neatness – 10%
- The decision of board of judges is final. They have the authority to disqualify entries that do not adhere to the specifications and entry requirements.
- The participant is accountable for any issues that may arise with regard to the originality and authenticity of the artwork. PNVSCA reserves the right to revoke all prizes in any case of misrepresentation or fraud, intended or otherwise, committed by any winner upon due investigation by PNVSCA.
- Proprietary Rights
All poster entries submitted shall automatically become the property of PNVSCA. Thus, PNVSCA has all rights to utilize the poster along with the artists’ names for various publications, advocacy activities and or other official purpose.
- Prize
The winners will receive Certificates of Recognition and the following cash prizes exclusive of withholding tax:

Top 4 Finalists 7,500 Php
- Certificate of Appreciation
All participants will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
