Burnout. Isolation. Round-the-clock pressure. Who are you after a long work day ends? Aren’t we all longing for a break? A place to be ourselves and to reconnect? To feel at home again?
Black Canvas’ Wor(L)d Of My Bodies (WOMB) traces one such journey. In a world rife with intersectional violence against workers, women, minorities, and the planet, WOMB is a tender affirmation of the intersections between body, home, and ecology.
With the support of Japan Foundation Manila, the Black Canvas collective brings together Filipino multi-platform storyteller (Black Canvas founder), Abner Delina T. Jr., with Japanese movement artist-choreographer, Tomohiko Kyogoku, in a hybrid theatre-film collaboration that explores the intersectionality, interconnectedness, and intentionality that we all need.
Walk home with us on November 13th and 20th, 2021 (Saturdays) at 3PM and 8PM PHT, and learn from environmental advocates on how you can contribute to a care-based way of co-existing with Mother Earth. Collaborating with Delina and Kyogoku are Sabrina Basilio (Dramaturgy), Earvin Estioco (AD-Editing), Jerom Canlas (AD-Cinematography), Cholo Ledesma (Sound Design and Score), and Iriguchi Minehiro (Camera Operation).
