The exhibition deals with notions of control and surrender, the power of nature, the impact of humankind on the environment, and the changing shapes of society. The premise of control in this instance relates to reason and logic, a power derived from the will. The notion of surrender in contrast, reflects aspects of intuition, chance, acceptance, and unpredictability.
J. Consunji is an experimental painter currently interested in the exploration of a connection between aesthetics, imagery, narratives, immersion, and the transition and manipulation of physical form and its visual manifestation into the design and a degree of personal abstraction. The exhibition opening is on 22 June at 6 p.m.
