“You cannot reach where you are going if you continue to be the same person you have always been” – Germany Kent

This quote aims to be amplified by the group of artists from Bicol through their craft and artworks to their incoming art exhibit.

The art exhibit titled “REPASO: An Introspection and Analysis of Self-Growth” aims to express the meeting of “the old and the new”, serving as a self-analysis of artists’ personal growth. The word “REPASO”, a Bikol term meaning ‘repair,’ represents a collective review by Bikolano artists of their gradual development in relation to their craft and perspectives. Their artworks serve as markers, showcasing their progress by juxtaposing new creations with their older works. This exploration may be personal, reflecting the artists’ ‘metamorphosis’ and departure from their former selves. They have the opportunity to deconstruct and repair their craft into something new. New artworks will be displayed alongside the old ones, allowing viewers to compare and contrast each piece. Some artworks may even depict siblings or reincarnations, aiming to highlight the evolution of the artists and address past imperfections.

This art exhibit features participation from Kintab Artists Group Inc. (KAGI), a collective of various artists from the Bicol Region, ready to share their personal stories through their art and crafts.

The artworks of participating artists are named as follows: Abegail Reyes, Am Bonot, Andreinette Gomez, Cris Fragata Gomez, Dennis Concepcion, Elden Lumaniog, Gladys Borromeo, Harold Gomez, Jojit Begino, Mac Allison Calleja, Melchor Sabariza, Mia France Bermeo Dorosan, Michael Florano Sales, Peboi Selleza, Rebecca Co, Reymel Gonzaga, Roy Ruadil and Vladimir Grutas.

Also, the art exhibit event will have guest artists, namely Frederick Caedo, Joseph Renta and Susie Renta.
