The art exhibit titled “REPASO: An Introspection and Analysis of Self-Growth” aims to express the meeting of “the old and the new”, serving as a self-analysis of artists’ personal growth. The word “REPASO”, a Bikol term meaning ‘repair,’ represents a collective review by Bikolano artists of their gradual development in relation to their craft and perspectives. Their artworks serve as markers, showcasing their progress by juxtaposing new creations with their older works. This exploration may be personal, reflecting the artists’ ‘metamorphosis’ and departure from their former selves. They have the opportunity to deconstruct and repair their craft into something new. New artworks will be displayed alongside the old ones, allowing viewers to compare and contrast each piece. Some artworks may even depict siblings or reincarnations, aiming to highlight the evolution of the artists and address past imperfections.
