UP Vargas Museum, in cooperation with The Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS), presents Seeking Balance: A Tumba-Tumba Proof-of-Concept Museum Show, the organization’s 15th anniversary exhibition, on September 3, 2020 at the 1F and 3F Galleries.

Established in 2005, CANVAS celebrates in Seeking Balance the organization’s relentless growth marked by the challenge of finding balance while making a difference in various local communities through visual art and children’s books. The exhibition is a reflection of their tireless efforts to realize their dreams and clinch great impact, all that leads to the current mission of building the Children’s Museum of Philippine Art: Tumba-Tumba.

For Seeking Balance, CANVAS gathers works from artists Leonardo Aguinaldo, Darby Alcoseba, John Paul Antido, Marcel Antonio, Jojo Barja, Don Bryan Bunag, Demetrio Dela Cruz, Cedrick Dela Paz, Liza Flores, Manny Garibay, Lui Gonzales, Jun Impas, Mark Justiniani, Dante Lerma, Lui Manaig, Chad Montero, Jason Moss, Otto Neri, Roel Obemio, Jim Orencio, Jaime Pacena, Blic Pinas, Palma Tayona, Jomike Tejido, Jojit Solano, and groups Biskeg Pangasinan Art Collective, Durian Collective, Sangviaje Artist Collective, Studio 1616, The Working Animals; all are prompted to present their art that interrogates the dualities in life and the search to strike a balance in such. The works are large in size “to amplify the power of the images, and to enable their viewing from a distance… to reveal the bigger picture, and empower everyone to imagine and believe that solid footing can be found even in a world and future that are suddenly more uncertain as ever.”

The exhibition runs until October 3, 2020.
