We’re launching our newest program called FUSE with SINTA this Feb 22 in the HUB: Make Lab!
SINTA is a Filipino classical music performance and video art collaboration between vocal ensemble Pasipo and video artist Bettina del Rosario that explores the ideology of a love that encompasses self and others, that is, love for a place – love for a country.
It seeks to tell a story through a set piece, an old Filipino sala (living room), that takes its viewer back in a time of Kundiman and courtship, as well as a time of disquietude and political turmoil.
Sinta is a term of endearment not exclusive for lovers – in this piece, love runs deeper than flesh and blood.

FUSE is a new program that we are launching with Pasipo and Bettina’s collaborative work. To fuse two or more things together means to combine and blend them to form a single entity. Similarly, in FUSE, we invite artists working in different practices to collaborate together to create experimental works in order to spark conversations that could further their artistic practices. This program aims to encourage artists to trust the exciting energy that comes with the creative process of working with others, and to be open to new perspectives that could show them different ways of seeing and doing things!
